Conch Republic Street Fair Recycling Report

Four recycling containers were positioned in strategic locations at the beginning of the street fair. All vendors were advised verbally to use the containers for disposal of their plastic, metal, and glass containers.

There were two food vendors in the event and they were asked to remind their customers to use the recycling bins for disposal of containers.

There was a high volume of spectators during the bed races on Duval St. and one of the containers was filled completely so another one from a low traffic area was moved to accommodate the overflow.

All four containers were filled by the end of the day and the containers were removed from the site immediately after the fair ended.

The next Monday the containers were trucked to the recycling center on Stock Island and they were emptied into the appropriate bins.

A complete report will be presented at the next Board of Directors meeting along with a discussion about future recycling stratagies.
